IMPORTANT: Due to the COVID-19 virus situation, our performance at the Java Room in Chelmsford, MA, on Saturday, March 14th, has been cancelled.  Please tell anyone you know who was planning to attend that we will not be there.  Our next scheduled appearance at the Java Room is Saturday, June 13th.  Hopefully by then the world will be better and we'll be able to entertain you!  Look for our emails updating folks as we move through this situation.

Jazz First has had to change our Java Room nights to Saturdays to align with the new 2020 Java Room policy of closing on Friday nights at 5 PM.  So in 2020 we'll be appearing on the following Saturdays, beginning at 8 PM:  June 13th, September 12th, and December 12th.  Mark your calendars, and come join us for fun evenings of food, drink, and great jazz interpretations of your favorite tunes!

Jazz First at its core is a piano-bass-drums jazz trio based in southern New Hampshire devoted to the performance of straight-ahead jazz and blues standards, written primarily in the first half of the twentieth century. In addition to the trio, we work with vocalists and other instrumentalists, allowing us to offer various sounds depending upon an event's needs. We play in restaurants and bars, for various fundraisers, perform concerts for local organizations, play for weddings, and perform at private parties. Please contact us for your musical needs at any event. For more information, send an e-mail to: Info@Jazzfirstmusic.com

Recording Session

The trio and our vocalist, Pamela Smith, went into the Rumbaugh Studio on May 11th, 2013, to produce a new demo CD.  See more details, below in “New Sounds.”

New Sounds

We have completely revamped the “Sounds” page where we post demo songs. Click over to that page to hear some great recordings made with vocalist Pamela Smith in May, 2013, in the Rumbaugh Studio in Hudson, NH.  Others to be found there were recorded in a Medford, MA studio in April, 2009 and August, 2011, as well as some live recordings made at the First Church Jazz Supper Club event in March, 2009. We’re happy to share some of the group’s recordings with you!
